Local Partnerships

The Cultural Education Challenge asks art and cultural providers, schools and other local agencies to come together and drive a joined-up local cultural education offer for children and young people.

These Local Partnerships - also known as Local Cultural Education Partnerships or LCEPs - bring together passionate and committed people, whose strength is in the diversity of their perspective and influence. They pool local knowledge and professional experience from a wide and varied range of sectors, including the youth sector, education, local government, Music Education Hubs, health and housing, business and the creative industries.

Regional Culture in the North West

Partnerships such as these exist right across England, but more than a quarter of those established so far are in the North West. By and large, they tend to follow local administrative boundaries or bring a group of smaller areas together.

Because they respond closely to local need, each Local Partnership has a unique structure, set of priorities and way of working. Even in areas with no formally established partnership, there’s still plenty of great work happening in the area that you can connect with, to help you take on the Cultural Education Challenge.
