Who we are

Weaver Hall Museum and Workhouse is situated in Northwich and offers object-led, multi-sensory and highly interactive sessions for children and young people. Weaver Hall brings history to life with sessions involving real-life artefacts and costume as well as music, dance and storytelling. The Museum is housed within the old Northwich Union Workhouse building and features exhibitions and displays focusing on the history and industry of West Cheshire, including the salt industry, as well as the life and working conditions of the people living in the workhouse itself. Sessions are available for children and young people in Key Stages one, two and three. Workshops look at broad topics such as Victorians, Tudors, Anglo-Saxons and Vikings as well as The Great Fire of London, a specialist workshop on the local salt industry and a session specially designed for Year 4 pupils in ‘Powerful Persuasion’.
