The Writing Squad

Who we are

We provide workshops, 1-1 support and investment for young writers of all genres. Our free 2-year programme is for writers aged 16-21 who live, work or study in the North of England. We then continue to offer them support as they begin their careers, helping them establish themselves as artists, collectives and start up companies. We link writers with the literature industry and independent sector, while encouraging them to produce and distribute work themselves.

What we do

We recruit every two years, follow us in Twitter or sign up to our newsletter to find out when we next be doing so. We also create projects in schools and colleges or with young people's groups, using our more experienced grads, giving them employment, and offering you role models who only a few years before were in classrooms and lecture halls themselves.
