Who we are

Primary Art Skills was setup by Kerry Howarth, a very experienced Primary School teacher with a background in Art Education. I offers school based CPD in Primary Art and Design both in person and online and I also run external CPD courses (around Kendal) for all teachers who want to develop their skills and knowledge. What we do

Primary Art Skills works with your school to design school based training aimed at developing knowledge, skills and confidence in primary Art and Design. All the training is practical yet underpinned by theory to ensure everyone knows the what, why and how of teaching Art and Design to children. Training can focus on printmaking, drawing, sculpture, textiles, painting or collage or we can explore how to develop children's use of sketchbooks in school, or how to talk about artworks and artists.
