Who we are

Grosvenor Museum is situated in the heart of the historic city of Chester and offers a wide range of educational sessions that tie in with different aspects of Chester’s history including Romans, Tudors and Victorians. Sessions at the Grosvenor Museum are object-led and multi-sensory, offering a pens and pencils-free approach to help young people create their own meaningful connections to history and heritage. The Museum features Roman Galleries, including a special stones gallery featuring gravestones and shrines; a period house, natural history and art gallery as well as a visiting exhibitions programme. Education sessions are available at the Grosvenor for children and young people from EYFS up to Key Stage Four. As well as Romans, Tudors and Victorians, sessions are also available in Medicine and Public Health for GCSE, local history and investigating sources. Sessions at the Grosvenor Museum can also be used to inspire children in subjects such as Literacy and Art.
