Dewa Roman Experience

Who we are

Dewa Roman Experience offers an interactive and hands on immersive experience of what it might have been like to live in Roman times. Visitors can explore an atmospheric recreation of a Roman settlement and see an archaeological dig up close. The experience features a reconstructed Roman Galley, a real-life archaeological excavation and a ‘hands-on’ gallery where children and young people can try on Roman armour, build a hypocaust and create their own mosaic. An educational visit to the Dewa Roman Experience consists of a guided tour through the three main galleries and an optional Roman Soldier Tour around the highlights of Roman Chester. Sessions at the Dewa Roman Experience can be tailored to groups of young people from Key Stage One to Four.
