Who we are

Based in the stadium at Ewood Park, home of Blackburn Rovers Football Club, the BRFC Community Trust’s Education Centre is a high profile venue offering a variety of one-day media learning opportunities. The centre is staffed by qualified, experienced and dynamic teachers, who work with schools in advance of bespoke visits to plan activities that support specific curriculum aims. The centre is equipped with excellent digital imaging and IT facilities, enabling learners to produce their own videos and animations. For example, groups can film and edit news-style reports using the stadium as an inspirational setting, or learn stop-motion animation techniques in order to create short animated films. MFL students have used the centre’s facilities and support to make promotional videos for real audiences in their language of study. BRFC Community Trust works with primary and secondary schools from across the North West as well as with local colleges and universities. Their media-related activities support a range of curriculum areas, topics and themes. The teaching staff are keen to maintain a high educational value to what they offer and to work together with schools to deliver relevant outcomes.
