Who we are
Big Comedy Shop specialises in using comedy, drama and improvisation to engage, educate and entertain young people through interactive, fun, high energy workshops. Founder Ali Kahn is an award winning actor, writer and comedian and is Big Comedy Shop's main facilitator having worked with young people since 2001. Ali also hosts young people's events and delivers funny motivational talks on mental health in high schools. Ali works with a great team of experienced comedic drama tutors.
What we do
BCS runs regular After School Comedy Drama Clubs at primary schools in Manchester. We also deliver tailor made, issue based comedy workshops for young people working with schools and youth services. We can use comedy to explore any topic from body identity to sexual exploitation no topic is too serious for us. We are passionate about the power of laughter and creativity with young people and our work focuses on personal development and self expression, helping young people find their voice.
