How do your students see “the North”? Is it a place, a feeling, their family, an attitude?
The Great Exhibition of the North has teamed up with the Northern Powerhouse to encourage you to get behind the lens and capture the essence of what makes the North ‘Great’ and win £500 of art supplies for your school.
The competition is open to all ages with entrants tasked with responding to one of four themes.

- Landscape & Cityscape
- Art & Design
- My Innovative North
The Prizes
Prizes include a trip for a family of four to NewcastleGateshead with a two-night stay at Jesmond Dene House and travel with Virgin Trains during the Great Exhibition of the North, with spending money and £500 worth of art supplies for schools.
How to enter
- Schools and colleges are encouraged to engage their pupils with the competition and submit student responses in school specific categories.
- As an individual through the general competition entry form
- Via Twitter and Instagram, including the Twitter name, @getnorth2018, and hashtags #getnorth2018 #getnorthphotocomp. You should also include the category you wish to be included in.
- Closing date: 31 December 2017
