Primary Arts Network Meeting: Tate Liverpool

Posted: 21/11/2018

The Primary Arts Network is now entering its second year and brings together primary teachers with arts and cultural professionals to stimulate collective problem solving. For primary teachers, it is an opportunity to create new relationships with arts organisations and strengthen the arts and culture offer within your school. For arts organisations, it is an opportunity to share some of the resources you have available for schools and find out how best to support teachers in the current environment.

We are pleased to invite you along to our next network meeting on Thursday 29th November.

Arrivals from 3.45 for light refreshments with a 4pm start.

This event will take place at Tate Liverpool which is currently hosting Ideas Depot, a new display that has been co-curated with primary school teachers across the city featuring major works by artists including Layla Curtis, Salvador Dalí and Chris Ofili. We'll be hearing from Dr Deborah Riding, Tate's Children and Young People Programme Manager about how the works in the exhibition can be used to teach a variety of different curriculum subjects.

Then we will break into small groups to share practice and see availble resources from other arts organisations that can be used to work across the curriculum.

The event will finish at 5pm with an opportunity for informal networking afterwards.
